I am Alessandro Belloni, a naturalist, animal rights advocate, and amateur wildlife and conservation photographer and videomaker. Born in Rome, Italy, in 1992, I grew up with an innate curiosity for the natural world. From my earliest memories, I felt drawn to wild places and the creatures that inhabit them—an instinctive connection that has shaped both my personal life and my professional path.
My work as a photographer is deeply rooted in a desire to tell the stories of our planet’s most vulnerable species and ecosystems. Whether on land or beneath the ocean’s surface, I seek to capture not only the beauty of wildlife but also the urgency of protecting it. Each image I create is more than a visual record—it is a call to action, an invitation to reflect on the fragility of life and the role we all share in preserving it.
As a certified diver, I devote much of my time to documenting the extraordinary diversity of marine ecosystems. Coral reefs, pelagic giants, and elusive underwater species are recurring subjects in my portfolio. These encounters are not just artistic opportunities but vital moments of witness: a chance to show how marine life flourishes, and how quickly it can vanish without concerted conservation efforts.
Beyond photography, my career as a professional pilot gives me the privilege of traveling extensively. This unique perspective allows me to immerse myself in diverse habitats—from tropical rainforests and vast deserts to remote islands and polar landscapes—where I encounter wildlife in its many forms. These journeys fuel my visual storytelling, expanding the scope of the narratives I bring to life through photography and film.
Central to my mission is collaboration. I work closely with non-profit organizations and conservation groups committed to wildlife protection and biodiversity preservation. Together, we develop projects that not only document species and habitats but also raise awareness about the urgent threats they face, from poaching and deforestation to climate change and ocean acidification. By partnering with these organizations, I aim to amplify their impact and inspire collective responsibility for safeguarding our shared natural heritage.
My artistic philosophy is guided by a simple yet powerful belief: images have the ability to move people, to spark empathy, and to drive change. Through my lens, I strive to give voice to the voiceless, bridging the gap between human society and the wild world that sustains us. Each photograph is both a tribute to the resilience of life and a reminder of its vulnerability.
Ultimately, my goal is to contribute meaningfully to global conservation efforts—by raising awareness, encouraging dialogue, and motivating action. Whether through a single photograph of a threatened species or an in-depth visual project on endangered ecosystems, I hope to inspire others to look closer, care deeper, and act with urgency.
The natural world is facing unprecedented challenges. Yet it also holds an extraordinary capacity for renewal if given the chance. Through my work, I invite others to stand with me in protecting the beauty, diversity, and wonder of this planet—for the sake of future generations and for the countless species that cannot speak for themselves.
